- Hefty feel
- Viewing size large including high power
- Easy to focus
- Stability
- Clips for objective security
- Stays focused when bumped
- Optics not scratched
- Light source good
- Has low and high power: 100X and 400-500X.
Good, but optional:
- Transportable
- Electric light source
- Parafocal
- Bent body tube
- Binocular
- Slide making equipment
Lookout for these qualities:
- Plastic optics
- Light weight
- Viewing size small especially at high power
- Hard to focus well
- Tips easily
- No way to secure specimen
- Does not stay focused when bumped, or even when not bumped
- Optics glass, but scratched
- Light source inadequate, or hard to adjust or find bulbs for
- Only has less than 100X, or advertises greater than 600X.
